Your mission & challenges 

In our humanoid robotics department, we are seeking several outstanding humanoid robot developers to join our team. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of topics, varying according to the needs of 4NE-1. This includes:

  • Development, design, and optimization of mechanical systems for humanoid robots
  • Design of joints, structures, gearboxes, and actuators, taking into account weight, load capacity, and dynamics
  • CAD design and creation of technical drawings and parts lists
  • Performing strength, motion, and tolerance analyses
  • Working closely with the electronics, control engineering, and software departments
  • Building, integrating, and testing prototypes
  • Assisting in the selection of suitable materials and manufacturing processes
  • Documenting development results

What we can look forward to 

Must-have:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or comparable field
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical design and machine elements
  • Experience with CAD software (CREO, SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
  • Knowledge of kinematics and dynamics of robot systems
  • Knowledge of simulation (e.g., FEM, multibody)
  • Understanding of overall mechatronic systems
  • Ability to work in a team and a structured, independent way of working
  • Good knowledge of German or English

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in humanoid robotics, exoskeletons, or biomechanical systems
  • Knowledge of lightweight construction, actuator technology, or gear technology
  • Experience from research projects, competitions, or open-source robotics
